Geotextiles ALTEX AT

The ALTEX AT geotextile is made of highly durable polypropylene or polyester fibres formed in the process of mechanical needling with thermal finish of surfaces. Geotextiles are characterized by high mechanical strength and excellent biological and chemical resistance. When choosing the appropriate basis weight of geotextiles, one should be guided by their tensile strength, elongation and pay attention to static and dynamic breakdown parameters. The pore size and water permeability of the geotextiles are also very important..

Functions

The choice of a specific type of geotextile depends on the intended use and function that this geosynthetic is to perform in its field of use:

Filtration and drainage

The structure of our geotextile prevents soil particles from moving, allowing free flow of liquid and gas. Its efficiency is strictly dependent on the pore size and surface weight of the whole material. Maintaining the proper structure of the geotextile (pore size) allows it to pass through the filter particles with a diameter smaller than Ø90. Larger particles are retained on the filter surface and as a result, water drainage can be carried out in any plane of the textile.

Separation

Geotextile is an excellent separating material due to its high water permeability and high mechanical properties. This function is used especially for stabilizing soils with low load capacity. Construction of roads in such areas can be particularly difficult, and thanks to the use of our geotextiles it is definitely simpler and more effective. The products permanently prevent the mixing of different layers of the substrate and thus makes it possible to reduce the thickness of load-bearing layers in the foundation structures and extend their durability. The result of inadequate separation may be a gradual mixing of construction materials with native soil that leads to considerable damage to the road structure and requires expensive repairs.

Protection and strengthening

Geotextile absorbs dynamic stresses and prevents individual layers of the substrate from mixing, which significantly extends the life of communication routes while reducing the amount of aggregate needed in their construction. Geotextiles improve the mechanical parameters of the substrate and for this purpose they are laid below or between the layers of soil to absorb dynamic stresses arising as a result of using roads, airports or railways.

Application

The ALTEX AT geotextiles are widely used in broadly understood soil stabilization in the area of:

  • sidewalks, bike paths, alleys;
  • public roads, temporary roads;
  • roof gardens, swimming pools and ponds (foil protection);
  • parking lots, driveways, sports fields;
  • landfills (geomembrane protection), construction of embankments and levees;
  • drainage and drainage systems, filters;
  • ballasting of pipelines;
  • roofing repairs.
